2013 Fire and Wood Festival hailed as successPosted on 31st May 2013
The Forest of Dean’s 2013 Fire and Wood Festival has been hailed as a great success by the Gloucester-based newspaper The Citizen after the event attracted many visitors from the surrounding area and elsewhere.
The article — which can be viewed online here — gave a brief summary of the yearly event, which was again held at one of the forest’s most popular attractions, the Dean Heritage Centre, and described the festivities as ‘spectacular’.
‘This year’s main highlight’, the piece goes on to say, ‘was the lumberjack demonstrations, using axes and crosscut saws, by The Welsh Axeman’, whilst ‘Warbow Wales treated festival-goers to a taste of the iconic Welsh medieval longbow’ in another example of the diverse activities available.
Forest of Dean holidays are enjoyable in all seasons, but making sure your trip coincides with next year’s Fire and Wood Festival will give you a chance to truly immerse yourself in the best of this beautiful spot’s rich heritage.
