Theatre lovers head to the Chepstow FestivalPosted on 25th June 2015
Chepstow Castle will again open its gates this summer to a brilliant presentation of some theatre greats. Entertaining audiences of all ages, the Chepstow Festival is now running through late July.
Some of the country’s best touring companies will be at the castle to present shows such as Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing and The Taming of the Shrew. There will also be adaptations of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Emma. There will a total of 11 unique productions.
Tickets are affordable can be purchased prior to any the shows, or at the gate.
All of the shows are offered in an open-air theatre at the heart of the castle. With cover for the audience members in case of rain, the festival is a great idea for a night out. Near many of our holiday cottages in the Forest of Dean, the event has some productions geared specifically for children. With seating on blankets or low folding chairs, festival goers are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy themselves while watching the actors present the classics.
