New art exhibit celebrates Forest of Dean’s beautyPosted on 25th April 2013
An exhibition which celebrates the beauty of the Forest of Dean was unveiled at the Dean Heritage Centre last weekend and is expected to attract hundreds of people staying in holiday cottages in the Forest of Dean this coming month.
‘Spring in the Forest’ by Sarah King opened on 20 April and will run until 2 June, giving holidaymakers in May the best opportunity to see this fantastic exhibition. The seasonal beauty of the Forest of Dean in spring is celebrated in her artwork, and her particular expertise lies in capturing the light that filters through the forest canopy. She also likes to paint the fauna and flora of the area, and masterfully depicts the bluebells which can be seen around the Forest.
Having lived in the Forest of Dean for 8 years, she is always happy to exhibit her work at the Dean Heritage Centre, and although her talents are in demand from people all across the country, she will always consider herself a ‘Forest artist’.
