Newent Birds of Prey Centre appears on The One ShowPosted on 04th December 2013
Rural Gloucestershire is famed for its walks, wildlife and natural beauty, which is why so many visitors stay in cottages in the Forest of Dean, and on Wednesday 27th November, the International Birds of Prey Centre at Newent featured on the BBC’s The One Show.
The programme looked at the popular centre at Newent, which is just a short distance away from the Forest of Dean, and gave viewers an insight into the daily trials and tribulations of the centre.
The One Show programme featured the bird centre’s owner, Jemima Parry-Jones, and explored how – after selling her family-owned business and moving to the USA – she re-bought the centre to discover that the businessman she had sold it to had rundown the centre and illegally sold birds of prey.
The International Birds of Prey Centre has since returned to its former glory, however, and now houses an array of exotic birds of prey.
