New walking festival launched in Forest of Dean and MonmouthshirePosted on 31st March 2015
A new walking festival is set to be launched in June that will showcase the best walks in the Forest of Dean and Monmouthshire.
The MonDean Walking Festival, which starts on 27th June and ends on 5th July, will offer a range of different walks to visitors staying in nearby Forest of Dean holiday cottages across the most picturesque areas of the two counties.
The walks will vary in length and experienced walk leaders will take walkers on a variety of walks, such as a 7-mile walk around Skenfrith in North Monmouthshire, as well as on walks that look at the heritage and industrial history of regions in Monmouthshire and the Forest of Dean.
According to an article on the Out & About Live website, walks will also introduce visitors to local food and drink producers, as well as taking walkers to the tram roads that go along the Wye River. Walks will also visit the likes of Abergavenny, Chepstow, Symonds Yat, St Briavels and other areas in the Forest of Dean.
The Monmouthshire Walking Festival website will be updated with all of this year’s information from 5th April and interested parties can make bookings from the end of April.
