Called Greenways, the project has finally reached fruition after five years of hard work by the Forest of Dean ad District Horse Riders’ and the Carriage Drivers’ Association. It also came about thanks to a £90,000 grant from the Forest of Dean Local Action Group.

Opening on 22 August, the network now offers over 30 miles of beautiful trails throughout the forest, beginning at Dymock in the north and running towards Lydney in the south. If you want to download one of the maps for the network, click here.

It’s sure to be an addition greatly appreciated by those on their future holidays in the Forest of Dean, giving them a chance to discover this region’s undeniable splendour like never before.
