New recreational facilities to be built in LydbrookPosted on 23rd May 2014
It has been revealed that developers are going ahead with plans to redevelop a brownfield site in Lydbrook in the Forest of Dean.
The now unused Stowfield Works area of Lydbrook is the subject of a proposed multi-million pound renovation that would see new houses and leisure facilities built on it.
The plans would not only be good for the local community, with new houses, offices and a care home set to be built, but also visitors on incredible Forest of Dean cottage holidays as a number of leisure and recreational facilities will be built.
The entire site is over 15 hectares and developers are planning to use the vast majority of this land for the proposed development.
The project has been welcomed by some locals who say the scheme will be great for the village as more holidaymakers could be attracted to the area by the new facilities, which could bring in more money to the area as well.
