Limelight put on Gloucester’s history and landmarks in new bookPosted on 11th February 2015
A number of prominent landmarks in Gloucester and the history of the city have been included in a new book by author D.G. Amphlett.
The new book, ‘Gloucester – History You Can See’, includes details about some of the most amazing monuments in Gloucester.
Visitors who decide to go on Forest of Dean cottage holidays and visit the city as well as local residents will be able to learn more about landmarks such as the Gloucester Cathedral and the East Gate Market Portico, to name just a few.
The new book also includes information about the history of Gloucester and particular parts of the city that have connections with famous people, such as Hubert Cecil, the inventor of the vacuum cleaner.
Speaking to the Gloucester Citizen, D.G. Amphlett, said, “Gloucester is a very interesting city and has lots of religious history and monuments which are still here. There’s also the cathedral and the industrial side to the city.”
The new book is set to be released in the coming weeks and will be available online and in bookstores across the country.
