Exhibition of Forest of Dean landscape paintings

Posted on 22nd August 2013

Anyone enjoying their cottage holiday in the Forest of Dean will be well acquainted with the breathtakingly superb landscapes. It should come as no surprise that they have inspired a body of work by Forest artist Ron Boyd, whose landscape paintings will be exhibited at Taurus Crafts, Lydney.

Boyd said: “My paintings evolve through walking and looking, drawing, taking notes and photography. Ideas developed out of a long study of the Forest environment.”

He has lived and worked in the Forest of Dean for more than 30 years, and exhibition coordinator Colette Kresse describes how he has “exhibited widely in Britain and abroad, gaining many prizes and selections for prestigious exhibitions.”

Visitors will be able to see his paintings from September 7 to October 13 at Taurus Crafts, Lydney. Of course, you’ll also have the real Forest of Dean on their doorstep whilst staying with us, allowing you to judge for yourself in Boyd has captured the landscapes and done them justice.
