Hollywood blockbuster could be filmed in Forest of DeanPosted on 20th July 2015
Speculation is intensifying that some of Hollywood’s biggest stars will be coming to the Forest of Dean next week for filming.
People on Forest of Dean cottage holidays next week will not be able to visit the popular Puzzlewood attraction near Coleford after they announced the site will be closed for a week from Monday 20th July as filming was taking place.
Puzzlewood, which has previously featured in movies such as Jack the Giant Slayer, have not released details about what will be filmed in the woodland, but rumours are circulating that scenes for the Hollywood blockbuster The Huntsman will be filmed at the popular attraction.
After the success of Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012, this prequel is also set to be a huge hit although initially a sequel to the first film was set to take place. Those plans were shelved after director Rupert Sanders was accused of cheating on his wife with Kristen Stewart, who was playing Snow White.
The new Huntsman film will again feature Hollywood stars Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron and will now be directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. Other stars featuring in the film include Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain and Nick Frost.
Mark Terry-Lush, director of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association, told the Gloucester Citizen, “The more people that know about the Forest and what it has to offer can only be a good thing.”
