Gloucester Tall Ships Festival returns this MayPosted on 15th May 2013
Excitement is mounting for the Gloucester Tall Ships Festival this month as the award-winning event makes a return after two years of waiting. The festival is sure to be a hit with both locals and those enjoying Forest of Dean cottage holidays from 24-27 May, when the city’s Historic Docks welcome an impressive flotilla of ships.
The Gloucester Tall Ships Festival did not go ahead in 2012, leaving many people disappointed. This year, it is back to wow the crowds, and plans for the weekend include boat trips, street entertainment, food and drink stands, craft stalls and kids’ activities. Visitors can board the tall ships with the purchase of a wristband and also gain entry to the popular Gloucester Waterways Museum.
The event kicks off on 24 May at noon and thousands are expected to turn up for a glimpse of the majestic ships sailing into port before joining in with all the swashbuckling fun, so bring all the family for a half-term weekend adventure.
