Forest of Dean paintings to go on displayPosted on 10th January 2014
An exhibition showcasing the Forest of Dean through colourful paintings is set to open on Saturday 11th January at Taurus Crafts.
The Clash of Colours exhibition from local artist Doug Eaton shows the woods, including some of the luxury holiday cottages in the Forest of Dean, in a number of widely varying shades.
Eaton says of his work, “I am currently trying to be more fundamental in my approach to try and produce a strong result from lines, shapes and colours which combined in some way evoke a landscape, usually based on the Forest of Dean, which I find to be quite a particular landscape.”
This is the first time since January 2009 that the Forest of Dean-based artist Eaton has exhibited his paintings at Taurus Crafts.
Taurus Crafts near Lydney, which was set up by the Camphill Village Trust, also currently has an array of sculpture exhibitions running for visitors to enjoy.
The Clash of Colours exhibition will be open to the public until 16th February.
