Situated at the entrance to Clearwell Castle (now used for
weddings), North Lodge is an enchanting 'Hansel and Gretel' cottage
in the Gothic style and has been decorated, furnished and equipped
to a high standard by its owners. On the edge of the attractive
village of Clearwell (shops, pubs and restaurants) the cottage is
within easy reach of all the amenities of this lovely part of the
world - the Forest of Dean itself, with its beautiful scenery and
walks, Chepstow Castle, the Wye Valley (Tintern Abbey and Symonds
Yat are both well worth a visit) and further afield the fine farming
communities of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
North Lodge is built into the Castle's outer walls, some 100 metres
from the main building. It has unusually shaped rooms and a very
attractive garden with views over the Castle grounds and makes a
delightful place to stay.
