Clearwell Caves in the Guardian’s top 10 Christmas attractionsPosted on 27th November 2014
In a recent article published by the Guardian, the newspaper revealed 10 of the best Christmas attractions in the UK.
Described as an ‘underground grotto’, Clearwell Caves was mentioned in fourth place on the list, and is located in the Forest of Dean. The family friendly attraction invites visitors to enjoy festive magic in the ancient iron mines, while walking from cave to cave following the Perfect Christmas Tree story along the way.
Those visiting the caves while on Forest of Dean cottage holidays with the family can also take children to meet Father Christmas, as well as perusing the Christmas market. Tickets cost just £9 and children between the ages of 2 and 14 will receive a gift from Santa Clause himself, with under twos admitted for free. The festive events begin this weekend and will continue until the day before Christmas Eve, with late night openings on Fridays until 8pm.
