| This very spacious, Wisteria clad, Victorian farm cottage is
situated deep in the Herefordshire countryside, a mile and a half
from the nearest road on an organically run farm, mainly dairy but
where the owners also sell home grown pork and lamb. Children can
watch the cows being milked, help collect the farm eggs or take part
in one of the cookery workshops organised at the farm. There are
lots of walks on the farm using the foot and bridlepaths or the
disused railway line which runs the length of the farm - bikes
supplied if required. The large, half acre garden has an above
ground, circular, swimming pool for the summer months and
a games room in an old oast house with pool table, table
tennis, darts and table football. Temporary membership of Bromyard
Tennis Club is also provided by the owners and riding, fishing and
golf are available locally.
The surrounding area offers beautiful countryside and provides a
wealth of attractions for visitors. Within an hour's drive are
Ironbridge Gorge, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, the
Cotswolds, Malvern Hills, Wye Valley, Brecon Beacons, historic towns
such as Stratford-upon-Avon and Ludlow, as well as the cathedral
cities of Hereford and Worcester, both 15 miles away. Junction 7 of
the M5 is 30 minutes' drive. Bromyard, 2 1/2 miles, offers the nearest
local facilities including a sports centre and theatre. Wicton
Farm Cottage has been the subject of a complete refurbishment by its
very hospitable owners and now offers highly rated, well equipped
accommodation. It is some 50 yards from the main, Grade I listed,
early 16th century farmhouse, which is the oldest in the area and
still has the original Priest's Hole.
NB Wicton Farm Cottage and Elephant Cottage (H187) are within
a mile of each other and large parties might want to book
